Made my way up to Canada Vallejo area to deliver Derryl his taillights and to hang out.  This video is a walkaround of his Corolla GTS with a daytime shot of the lights.

Did another pair of S13 coupe crystals for a customer in Hawaii.

Then also finished up Teddy’s lights as well.  Even drove down to install the LEDs into the taillights personally since I was in the area.

Though they are a bit too bright for him, so I’ll be back in July to dim the stars a bit so they’ll be more visible when they’re on.

Pulled an all nighter.  Worked on these and Teddy’s 180sx lights.

The coupe lights should be finished up tomorrow and on their way to Hawaii.  And Teddy’s should be finished up soon as well.

Levin Corner Markers

10 Jun

Customer in Ohio sent me some pics of the Levin lights on his car!

He’s telling me they’re brighter than his HIDs!  Very glad these came out looking so cool!

Pricing Updated

Finalized the pricing layout.  All prices include the lifetime warranty on the LED’s.

Some answers to questions that I predict that will pop up:

1.  What is, 2 Piece Taillights, and 4 Piece Taillights?
A: 2 piece taillights are when your taillights consist of 2 pieces; one light on the left, and one on the right.  4 piece taillights have one light on the left, one light on the right, and 2 lights on the trunk (or hatch).  an example of 2 piece taillights:  http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v643/AE86_20V/IMG_0207.jpg and then an example of 4 piece taillights: http://cdn.speedhunters.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/IMG_2175_copy.jpg

2.   What do you mean by cost per LED?
A:  Cost per LED bulb means that it costs $0.70 cents to install each LED light bulb into whichever light you would like.  For example, if you wanted me to change your taillights to LED, it would be $120 (assuming they are 2 piece), then $0.70 cents for each LED bulb that will be used.

3.  How many LEDs would I need?
A:  It really comes down to what you want in the end.  I can space the LED bulbs far enough to minimize the LED bulb count to keep the price low if you would like, or pack them super tight to have the maximum amount of LEDs behind the brake lights.
I can provide you a rough estimate if you can provide me the amount of area of light that you would like converted to LED. My typical spacing of LEDs is ~9 LEDs per square inch.

Sorry that I’ve beaten it to a dead horse, but I’m anticipating that there is a good amount of people that will have these questions.

Thanks!

Japanese LED Magazine

6 Jun

I have always been a fan of the Japanese LED scene.  I recently came across an LED specific magazine from Japan and scanned/uploaded it all for everyone to look through it.  If you want a hard copy for yourself, I think you might could get one through a Japanese Importer, or a Japanese book store if there are any local to you.

The magazine goes over a lot of DIY LED bulb replacements, working with LED light strips, and dabs a bit into LED board construction.

Though the magazine is a year old (5/2011), it’s really cool seeing how far they take car/light customization over there than here stateside.

I’ve mentioned LED-Improduce before, but I’m still amazed at the LED conversions they come out with!
I’m working on having my pricing layout similar to theirs.  Though the taillight conversion pricing will not be as high as LED-Improduce’s (~$280 base price, ~$1.25 per LED that is used),  I will have the base pricing for taillights start at $120, then each LED bulb used between $0.70-$0.85 cents.  I’m still working on the pricing for the other exterior lights.
